Earthquake Relief
Three devastating earthquakes have hit southern Türkiye and Syria killing over 45,000 people and injuring many more.
The first deadly earthquake struck while people were inside their homes, asleep in their beds, with no warning signs. More than 54,000 buildings, including hospitals and schools, have been destroyed or damaged. People have been left without shelter in freezing winter conditions.
Zohra Foundation is partnering with local agencies that were among the first responders providing urgent aid.
Following the search and rescue operation, immediate priorities are access to healthcare, shelter for those who have lost their homes, heating in safe spaces, blankets, warm clothes, and ensuring people have food and clean water.
It is our responsibility to care for our elders and we must not neglect those in need.
The beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated:
“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his Sadaqah “
